Newbie says hello...
Oct. 15th, 2003 03:07 pmHello, all... I'm new here. I don't really know how to introduce myself so I'll quote Schopenhauer and then explain why I like it.
"Only a male intellect clouded by the sexual drive could call the stunted, narrow-shouldered, broad-hipped and short-legged sex the fair sex."
This quote is not nearly as misogynist as it sounds on the surface. To me, all this quote really means is that men are beautiful and I don't think I'll find a whole lot of argument in this community about that. If you need any proof of the sheer impressiveness of the male form I suggest you take a look at classical Greek bronze sculpture. Every day we are bombarded with images in the media that portray men as ugly, dirty, slovenly, unintelligent, crude, uncultured and bigoted. Where are the male positive images of good fathers, loyal friends and brothers who would lay down their lives for each other?
Just some thoughts for me to introduce myself to the group...
